Bio:

Uncle Bartholomew was seldom seen in Dagmar’s childhood, but his visits between adventuring in Hyrkania and Ka’athir may have been impressionable enough to draw the young Dagmar from the Theban Isles.

Bartholomew is the natural son of Dagmar’s paternal grandmother, Macaria of Zelas, and a human whom Bartholomew and his younger brother, Orphicos, never knew. When young Bartholomew asked Macaria about his father, all she told him was that he “came from the North”.

Named after his grandfather, Ptolemy, with a Shemmite turn, Bartholomew took the surname Smith after hearing the dwarvish legend of Weyland Smith.
